Gżira Open Mic Spot Casey’s Bar Announces Closure
A well-known bar beloved for hosting open mic nights, comedy shows and karaoke has announced it is closing down.
“Dear friends,” Gżira’s Casey’s Bar, on Rue D’Argens, opened on their social media page on Tuesday. “Unfortunately we have some sad news.”
“Tonight will be the last night of Casey’s Bar. We know this is a bit of a shock but unfortunately we have to close our doors for the last time after tonight. We would like to thank you for all your support and friendship over the years. If you can make it tonight to the Open Mic it would be a pleasure to see you one last time in Casey’s Bar!”
Many took to the comments section to remember the good times they had in the bar while others wondered where they would go now.
“A sad day indeed! Place had legendary status,” said one fan.
“I wish you all of the best,” said another. “Casey’s Bar was one of the best parts of our Malta trip. The music made for a magical experience and left us with many new friends.”
One person was a tad more sarcastic – “Let me guess… They are demolishing the building and erecting something ugly?”
