Ħassejtu? 3.5 Magnitude Tremor Hits Malta With Epicentre Just Off Mellieħa

A tremor measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale was felt across Malta late on Thursday night, with the epicentre just 16km off the coast of Mellieħa.

The quake struck at around 11.57pm with a shallow depth of just 5km, shaking homes and prompting a wave of social media reactions from people all over the island.

Some people shared that they felt the building they were in shake with some saying the experience spooked them.

Many reported a low rumble that lasted several seconds, with the tremor being felt in multiple localities.

Thankfully, no damage has been reported so far.

This comes just a day after another quake, measuring 4.7, was felt in Malta during the early hours of Wednesday morning, with that one originating off the coast of Catania.
