Heartfelt Tributes Pour In For Mdina Traffic Victim, Anthony ‘Twanny’ Marmara
Anthony Marmara, known as “Twanny” by those close to him, has been confirmed as the victim of the Mdina traffic accident that occurred in the early hours of this morning.
His unfortunate death has caused widespread despair, especially among those who knew him from his home town, Tarxien.
As a result, tributes have been pouring in, honouring Anthony’s memory as the dear friend and relative he was.
“You were the brother I never had, we were always together,” Anthony’s cousin said.
“We worked and laughed together. Thank you for the beautiful memories. Our family has lost a flower.”
“Until we meet again, dear cousin, dear friend, dear brother. Until we meet again L-Għasfur… Twanny Marmara.”
“Rest in peace Twanny l-għasfur Marmara. All of Tarxien and your friends will feel your loss. Until we meet again dear friend. Condolences to all the family,” another friend wrote.
Anthony was killed today at half past midnight after being hit by a Peugeot 208 which was being driven by a 20-year-old man residing in Qrendi.
The accident occurred in Valletta Street, Mdina.
Police investigations are currently ongoing and a magistrial inquiry has been ordered.
