Heavy traffic has once again been reported in a number of spots along the Southern and Northern parts of Malta.

The Maltese Road Traffic Updates page has been posting updates all morning, reporting a number of long traffic jams, especially in Fgura, Birgu, Tal-Barrani, St Venera Tunnels, Mġarr, Salini area, and the Coast Road.

Some collisions have also been reported, which are contributing to even more traffic, along with this morning’s rain, with gridlocks starting to form.

“Heavy traffic is being reported around St Paul’s Bay once again along Dawret Il-Qawra, Triq il-Korp Tal-Pijunieri, and also Triq il-Mosta which stretches down to Triq San Pawl. All heavy traffic is heading in the direction of Burmarrad and Coast Road,” it wrote.

Meanwhile, drivers frequenting the area of St Paul’s Bay have reported that no traffic officers are in sight to direct the traffic.

Heavy traffic has also been reported along the Għajn Tuffieha road all the way to Żebbiegħ.

“Traffic flows normally after passing the Farmers Bar, however, motorists get stuck at the end of the Mġarr bypass all the way through Buqana road direction Rabat.”

“Usual heavy traffic starting from Triq Għar Dalam Birzebbuga stretching all the way to Tal-Barrani road, continuing down to Aldo Moro road Marsa and Marsa/Hamrun bypass.”

It was even reported that the surrounding areas such as Żabbar Road Fgura, Vjal Sir Paula Boffa, Marsa Road (near Turkish Cemetery), Manwel Dimech Street, and Qormi Road were badly affected.
