Summer 2023 officially kicks off tomorrow with the summer solstice – and it’s bringing with it some intense heat to Malta.

Even though this year’s summer season kicked off quite later than previous years, the islands are still in for the Maltese summer we’ve all grown to know and love.

With the islands already hitting 30°C, it’s about to get even hotter this week, as highs starting from tomorrow will feel as hot as 34°C.

Meanwhile, the already-high UV Index exceeded the double-digit barrier and reached “extreme” 11.

Defined as “very dangerous”, it is advisable to “avoid all sun exposure” between 10am and 4pm, and to use sunblock during the hot hours.

What do you make of this week’s weather forecast?
