Help This Maltese Woman Find Her Long-Lost Father For Christmas
A Maltese woman is hoping a stranger will make her Christmas wish come true as she searches for her long-lost father.
23-year-old Maltese woman Chantelle is trying to find her father, a British man who might have left Malta over two decades ago.
The problem is, she has no idea where he might have gone to – and he might have even changed his name as well.
“This is my father and the baby is me,” said Chantelle in her public call for help. “He was born on the 5th of December, 1949. I don’t have a lot of information unfortunately…he used to live in St Paul’s Bay or Naxxar.”
Going by the name of Malcolm Pike, from Buckinghamshire, UK, he had come to Malta for the sea and the sun in 1994.
While in Malta, he enjoyed drinking at the Dallas Bar in St. Paul’s Bay, a bar that has since changed its name, andended up getting romantically involved with Chantelle’s mother, and having baby Chantelle soon after.
However, not all was well, and he soon left Chantelle’s mother for another woman, as Chantelle told Lovin Malta.
“He left my mom when I was just 8-months-old, so I basically don’t have any memories of him,” she said. “I started searching for him nearly three or four years ago, I even hired a private investigator, but he didn’t find anything…”
Chantelle doesn’t have any illusions about rekindling a relationship with the man who left her mother when she was a baby. “I’m just curious to see him; I don’t want money or anything, I’m doing fine, but I want to see him, to see the other part of me.”
“And I want to ask him, ‘why, why did you leave us, and why didn’t you try to find me after all these years, I am 23-years old now, why didn’t you try and come and find me,” she said.
Chantelle is determined to find her father, but she knows it is not going to be an easy task. She believes he might have changed his name to Michael and gone back to the UK after he left Malta, and that he would be 68-years-old today.
Until she finds him, she will continue living her life just as she did when she was growing up without him.
She has a happy and fulfilling life, working in dentistry as well as travelling with her loving boyfriend.
Still, she hopes someone could truly give her the Christmas gift she really wants and help to find her long-lost father.
