Here’s How To Apply To Become A Member Of A Maltese Cannabis Club Now That It’s Legal

Malta’s long-awaited, pioneering cannabis harm reduction association system has officially launched.
After years of delays and repeated setbacks – with former Authority for the Responsible Use of Cannabis head Mariella Dimech even publicly saying they’d be “up and running” by 2022 – the first two clubs have opened their doors under the watchful eye of current ARUC chief Leonid McKay.
However, a lot of people still aren’t sure how to take part in this new system, and actually become a member of a club.
So here are three easy steps to get you out of the black market and into the regulated market.
Step 1. Head to ARUC’s website
You can go to the website by following this link.
Aside from a full list of all the available clubs, you’ve got other useful materials, including information about licenses and our resources to help you understand the details of this new system.

Step 2. Click on the “Associations” tab
You can find the tab at the top of the website.

Step 3. Choose your preferred club.
Scroll down and you’ll find a list of all cannabis associations as well as contact details. At time of publishing, only two clubs are up and running, Ta Zelli, and KDD Society – with KDD Society already full-up, with 250/250 members signing up within days of opening.
There are currently at least six associations approved for opening at time of publishing, with more to be expected over the coming weeks and months.
Once you’ve selected your preferred club, contact them via phone or email, and they’ll guide you on how to become a registered member and what their rules are.
Clubs have every right to deny membership if they see a reason to deny you, so be on your best behaviour.
