If you are eligible to vote in the upcoming elections but will not be in Malta on the 3rd June – here’s what you need to do to do so anyway.

1. Book a reduced fare flight

Return tickets for €90 are available from Air Malta. You’ll need to fly in between the following dates – 24th May and 3rd June, and return between 3rd June and 7th June.

You’ll need to call +356 2599 1230 to make your flight booking. Make sure you have the usual info required to hand – I.D. number, etc. Opening times are Monday to Saturday from 8: 00 am-09: 00pm, and Sunday from 8: 00am -05: 00pm, from Thursday 4 May at 08: 00am.

Don’t forget your documents

You’ll need your voting document to vote – so it’s important to keep in mind that if no one resides at your home back in Malta, then the police will not be able to deliver your voting document.

Voting documents will be distributed between Tuesday 9th May and Sunday 21st May. After that you’ll be able to collect them from a local police station, or where there is no police station, from your local council between Tuesday 23rd May and Sunday 28th Mat at noon.

And if you don’t manage any of that, all the uncollected voting documents will be available to pick up from the Naxxar Counting Complex (ex-trade fair grounds) between Monday 29th May and Thursday 1st June till midnight.

2. Vote early if you’ve got travel plans on the election date

Anyone who’s not able to vote on the 3rd June because of travel plans can do so on the 27th May.

Individual voters will need to go to the electoral commission offices in Naxxar (ex-trade fair grounds), or in Rabat Gozo, between Monday 8th May and Friday 26th May (on the 26th not later than noon) and register for early voting. You’ll need to bring your ID card along.

God speed everyone.
