With April finally here, the longer days are bringing with them some sunny, warmer spells to Malta. If you’re not a big fan of the relatively strong winds which have been pelting the islands as of late, however, we’ve got some disappointing news for the days ahead in the form of this week’s forecast.
The first week of April is a mixed bag of partly cloudy and sunny days, with temperatures hovering just under 20°C. Monday to Thursday will have temperatures of 18°C that will at times feel like 19°C with the southerly winds.
The temperatures at night will slowly start climbing over the week, from 10°C on Monday night all the way up to 14°C a couple of days later.
As far as the winds go, however, Monday’s Force 2 winds will quickly be increasing to Forces 4, 5 and even 6 on Wednesday.

The weekend, on the other hand, holds something for all those who enjoyed Easter weekend’s sunny spells.
The forecast for Friday, Saturday and Sunday promises three very sunny days which will see the temperature hover at 19°C and 20°C. The evenings will still be quite fresh at 12°C, something that will only be felt even more with Friday and Sunday’s Force 4 and 5 winds. Saturday, however, might hold a refuge from gusts with Force 2 and 3 winds.
The UV Index throughout this week will be hovering around 6 and 7, which means it might soon start be time to get that sunscreen out.
