‘He’s Going To Make Me Vote’: Joseph Muscat’s Fans Take To Social Media To Celebrate MEP Return Comment
Joseph Muscat has said “he cannot ignore the people”, and several people are crying loud and clear.
After Muscat told MaltaToday that he isn’t excluding a potential MEP candidature, several fans of the former Prime Minister took to social media get excited about his potential return to politics.
“He is the true king, they have already got a shock, let alone if he actually contests,” one woman commented.
“Come on Prim, show them you’re still here. I wasn’t planning to vote but if you’re on the ballot, I will vote in a flash,” another man said.
“If you contest the election, I will stand behind you, Joseph Muscat. You are the king of the Maltese people.”
“If he contests the election, he will get more votes than the PN candidates combined,” a man predicted.
However, others were less enthusiastic.
“One of the major mafiosi and corrupt people – have we hit rock bottom?” a man asked.
“He will do us proud in the European Parliament with his 2019 title of the most corrupt person in the world,” someone added sarcastically.
“This poor guy has no more money left to eat, and he will now go and suck up more funds from an institution he never wanted Malta to join,” someone said, a reference to how Muscat had originally campaigned against Malta’s EU accession.
Muscat was forced to resign as Prime Minister in 2019 in the midst of a political scandal following the arrest of Yorgen Fenech on suspicion of ordering the assassination of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia.
He is currently facing a magisterial inquiry into the infamous Vitals hospital deal and has had his house searched by police. Muscat is legally seeking the recusal of magistrate Gabrielle Vella from the inquiry, arguing that he cannot trust her to be impartial.
Would you vote for Joseph Muscat if he had to contest the MEP election?
