Malta is once again in the spotlight as Gregg Sulkin, Paris Berelc, and Timothy Granaderos arrive on the island for the filming of Ascent, an upcoming thriller set thousands of feet in the air.

The actors, known for their roles in 13 Reasons Why, Pretty Little Liars, and Wizards of Waverly Place, have been spotted exploring Malta’s rugged coastline, with Sulkin sharing a sneak peek of their adventure on social media.

Ascent follows a group of friends attending a destination wedding in Europe, only to end up stranded 3,000 feet in the air on a hot air balloon.

With horror director Adam Green (Hatchet, Frozen) at the helm, the film is expected to deliver plenty of suspense.

Filming is set to kick off later this month, and with Malta’s diverse landscapes playing a key role, don’t be surprised if you see cameras rolling — or even spot a hot air balloon floating overhead.
