Homeless Man Steals €150 From St Paul’s Bay Restaurant’s Tip Jar

A 27-year-old Indian national has admitted to swiping around €150 from a tip jar inside a restaurant in St. Paul’s Bay.

Prosecutors say that the police identified and arrested the accused, who was wearing a black jacket and a cap when he was found in St. Paul’s Square in Ħamrun.

The inspector added that the accused, who has a drug addiction, admitted to the theft while in police custody.

Prosecutors mentioned that the accused has various social issues and has been homeless for some time. The defense explained that the man recently found employment and is getting his life back on track.

The sentence will be handed down on Monday.
