A store in Żebbuġ, Gozo was robbed last night after a hooded and armed man was able to get away with an undisclosed amount of money.

At around 10:45 pm Saturday evening, police were called to investigate a robbery that had occurred in a store in Triq ir-Rabat. A man armed with a sharp weapon entered the store, which has not yet been named, and threatened the 57-year-old shopkeeper to hand over the money.

The shopkeeper, who lives in Żebbuġ, handed over an amount of cash before the robber fled the scene.

No one was hurt in the armed robbery.

While it is as yet unknown who robbed the store, police investigations are already underway.
