HSBC Rabat Branch Closes Down For The Day After Murder Of Employee Nicolette Ghirxi
HSBC’s Rabat branch won’t open today after the shocking murder of one of its employees, Nicolette Ghirxi.
“Due to unforeseen circumstances our Rabat branch will be closed today. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding,” HSBC said in a statement.
Lovin Malta is informed that this decision came after the murder of Ghirxi, who was a member of a number of HSBC teams, including a team at the Rabat branch.
Ghirxi was stabbed to death in a Birkirkara apartment last night, and her ex-boyfriend, Edward William Johnston, confessed to the murder when confronted by police officers at St Julian’s early this morning.
Johnston was shot dead by police officers when he repeatedly refused to drop his firearm, which turned out to be a replica, and instead pointed it at the officers.
