Hugo Chetcuti’s Brother-In-Law Lunges At Murder Suspect After He Catches Him Smirking In The Dock
Left: Late Paceville mogul Hugo Chetcuti, Right: murder suspect Bojan Cmelik
The brother-in-law of Hugo Chetcuti lunged at Bojan Cmelik, the man charged with murdering the Paceville entrepreneur, in court today after he saw him smirking in the dock.
“Why are you laughing, you piece of….” Noel Falzon shouted, as he was restrained by court security and led out of the room. Lawyer Joe Giglio, appearing in parte civile for the Chetcuti family, said he also saw the suspect smirking but didn’t bring it up so as to avoid kicking up a fuss.
Magistrate Marse-Ann Farrugia reprimanded Cmelik, warning him that she will continue proceedings without him if he laughs or smirks again.
During today’s court sitting, an inspector testified how Bojan Cmelik was originally called Bojan Mitić, as had been revealed by Lovin Malta a few months ago. Mitić had in the past been convicted and jailed in Serbia for taking part in an armed robbery but he officially changed his name a few months before arriving in Malta in March 2016.
