Silvio Parnis’ son took to Facebook to showcase the celebrations of a football match he had dedicated to his beloved late father.

Jacob Parnis, who plays for the under-15s of Tarxien Rainbows, removed his shirt to reveal a vest with the words “Inħobbok Pa'” (I love you, Dad) written on it. His teammates can be seen wearing similar shirts.

The Rainbows secured a 2-0 win against Mġarr United.

Speaking to Lovin Malta, the 13-year old expressed the importance of such a win as he had promised his father to win the match for him before his unfortunate passing.

“I felt really happy because before my dad died I told him I have a game in January and he wanted me to win so we tried our best and got the victory.”

A former PL MP, Parnis passed away on 3rd January at 57 years old after battling with cancer.

Lovin Malta wishes its best congratulations to Jacob and the Tarxien Rainbows on their win!
