Lawyer Jason Azzopardi has announced that a longstanding magisterial inquiry into the Electrogas power station has been concluded.

“An inquiry I had opened in the name of David Casa, Repubblika and Simon Busuttil five years ago has been concluded,” Azzopardi said today. “Primary PL government exponents and businesspeople will have to be charged with bribery and money laundering.”

The inquiry, led by magistrate Charmaine Galea, is expected to look into corruption allegations related to the Electrogas power station, as well as Keith Schembri’s and Konrad Mizzi’s Panama companies, as well as Yorgen Fenech’s 17 Black company.

“I told you an earthquake was coming. Daphne was right,” Azzopardi said.

Last month, Azzopardi warned that the Electrogas inquiry could recommend criminal charges against Energy Minister Miriam Dalli and Finance Minister Clyde Caruana.
