Ian Borg Attends Silvio Berlusconi State Funeral In Milan’s Duomo

Foreign Affairs Minister Ian Borg attended the funeral of former Prime Minister of Italy Silvio Berlusconi, who passed away on Monday, 12th June, at the age of 86.

In a brief message, Borg sent his condolences to the loved ones of Berlusconi.

“I gave my sincere condolences to the loved ones and members of the Italian government – primarily the Vice Prime Minister,” Borg said.

Borg is attending on behalf of the Government of Malta after receiving an official invitation by the Italian Government for this state funeral.

The funeral took place at the Milan Cathedral (Duomo di Milano) and was attended by dignitaries from around the world.

Silvio Berlusconi served as Prime Minister of Italy between 1994-1995, 2001-2006, and 2008-2011.
