If You Were Planning On Camping In Malta This Spring We Have Some Bad News For You

Camping at Aħrax, Malta’s only public camping zone, has been banned from the 1st to the 22nd April due to the spring hunting season.
Notices placed along the roads feeding the campsites, as well as a small, written notice on the Mellieħa Local Council’s online application page, state that camping permits will only be issued for Qortin it-Twil.
As Malta’s only legal public camping ground, this across-the-board ban means the only choice for would-be campers is to crowd into the suggested space or pay to stay at Għajn Tuffieħa’s campsite.
While an alternative was offered (Qortin it-Twil), this camping space leaves a lot to be desired, particularly when compared to views and scenery associated with Aħrax’s camping zones.
