Il-Podcast Ta’ Jon Goes On Temporary Break: ‘Thank You All’

It’s super rare for me to know what day of the week it is.
What’s it matter? I’m either working flat out, bonding with my family or nurturing friendships. It’s unlikely the date has any bearing on any of it.
My life is wreathed with love and purpose, and I know I’m blessed to be leading it.
Of course, it gets exhausting. This is especially true for my team. Every time they break new ground, a jet of yet more challenges charges into them, and yet again the choice is theirs.
They must either wrestle with the unknown, suffer a little and rise a wiser, stronger person OR avoid the struggle and remain uninitiated.
Luckily for us all, they continue to plunge themselves into the reckoning every single day.

So now we will break for a fortnight.
Sixty-plus episodes in, a documentary, two sold-out live events, a growing platform with values at the foundation and excellence at the pinnacle which is yet to be built.
More than a thousand Patreons willing to stand with us, helping inscribe our core beliefs into our DNA. Interns whose work and educational experience far outstrip my own. Consultants whose sharp minds bring a mass to our momentum that is making it exceedingly difficult to quell.
I could never express in words just how humbled and grateful I am to be supported by you all.

On sleepless nights such as this one, I rewind and replay the intelligent and courageous gazes that sat across from me. A wealth of unbound Maltese potential, and Lord forbid we squander any of it.
And to the sponsors, we take every cent you send our way with enormous responsibility. Your trust and success are terribly important to us. Thank you for standing with free speech.
Of course, there were moments when I wish I did better. When my ego yelled at me to pull rank and delete certain exchanges from existence. Ultimately I chose the truth.
Underachievement is a bludgeoning reminder of just how new I am to this job. Expecting to enter the melee as a novice and emerging blemishless, was a stupid supposition which I rapidly shed.
Meanwhile, many ignore our invitation to dialogue. Of course, they are petrified by the notion of being held accountable. Of course, history is a debt collector they could never outrun. So, whatever.
But before we go and catch our breath a little, the Podcast team is loading the Patreon with three solid episodes: Mario Mallia, Andre Callus and Albert Buttigieg.

I trust these fine voices of resistance will accompany you all on great holidays.
Thank you all, your support is the hope our children deserve.
