Now that Malta is fully in summer mode, four beaches and bays around the island are getting a bit of a facelift to maximise your sunbathing pleasure.

St. George’s Bay in Birżebbuġa, Għar l-Aħmar in Marsaxlokk, Balluta Bay in St Julian’s, and Fajtata Bay in Marsaskala are all in varying stages of completion as sand nourishment and beach works have occurred over the last few days and will be occurring for the rest of the week.

“The sand renourishment projects we are conducting are part of our Tourism Strategy to upscale our tourism product while providing more access to beaches to locals and tourists during the Summer months,” Tourism Minister Konrad Mizzi told Lovin Malta.

So far, St. George’s Bay has been completed, with Għar l-Aħmar nearly ready, Balluta Bay being started upon today, and  Fajtata to be started over the coming days.

“We are very satisfied with how St George’s Bay in Birżebbuġa has taken shape. We are also happy with the public’s response to the new bay,” Mizzi continued. “Works on Għar l-Aħmar Bay in Marsaxlokk is also close to being completed. As works commence in Balluta and Fajtata we look forward to having these beaches ready in the coming days.”
