Horse carts, fresh vegetables, fashion and hobża friska – welcome to the world of Stilla Maltija, the latest photo series from Gaetano Couture.

In their new series, a number of models, ranging from young to old, recreate classic scenes straight out of modern Maltese history book. Models don everything from the iconic għonella to traditional worker clothing and even some over-the-top outfits inspired by the island.

The official photos, by Vince Bonello of Pukka Media, garnered scores of comments online, with people praising the take on classic Maltese scenes and sites.
