IN PHOTOS: San Ġwann Bike Lane ‘Fixed’ After Viral Controversy Over The Weekend

A new bike lane in San ?wann that garnered ridicule after cyclists pointed out that it ended abruptly in a wall, has been extended and “completed” after Transport Minister Ian Borg said it needed to be fixed.
The bike lane, which is part of a new network of bike lanes in Tal-Balal Road between San ?wann and Naxxar, seemingly ended in the wall of Liquid Club, San ?wann.
It has now been extended to connect with an existing side pavement.
Ian Borg confirmed that the lane was now completed after previously being left incomplete due to a vehicle that was parked there illegally.
The bike lane’s green paint merges with the existing beige pavement in a country road. Bikes and cars will be using the road together under a “shared road concept,” Borg said.
The finished bike lane appeared today with a newly completed section of paint
