Investigation Underway Into Website Using Fake Quotes From President George Vella
Malta’s President has filed a police report over a fake website using George Vella’s likeness and false quotes to scam users into a financial scheme.
The website, which appears to have been taken down, carries a fake interview with President Vella.
The report, called “SPECIAL REPORT: President Calls This Maltese Lucky “Economic Support Payment 2.0”, uses images and quotes from Vella “in the most misleading way”.
The Office of the President has filed a report with the Cyber Crime Unit and the matter is being investigated.
