Investigations Surrounding Daphne Caruana Galizia Assassination Are Still Underway, Prime Minister Says After Police Commissioner’s Statement

Investigations into the assassination of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia and any potential cover-up are still underway, Prime Minister Robert Abela has revealed.

Yesterday, Police Commissioner Angelo Gafa said that he believes all the masterminds and executors of the murder of  Caruana Galizia are now under arrest.

Vince Muscat has pleaded guilty to the murder, while his alleged accomplices George and Alfred Degiorgio have been charged too.

Two others, Jamie Vella and Robert Agius, have been charged with supplying the bomb for the murder.

Muscat is obliged to give testimony in the case against the Degiorgios, Vella, and Agius.

Yorgen Fenech has been charged with conspiring to assassinate Caruana Galizia, while Melvin Theuma has been given a pardon to reveal everything he knows about the case.

Abela, who was speaking during a press conference, said that more work is being done in terms of investigations. However, he said he was aware of specifics.

He reiterated that, as of yet, no politicians have been linked to the murder.

He said that the arrests were further evidence that the institutions are working.
