It Happened: Jake Vella’s Dream Has Come True
Jake Vella – a seven year-old suffering from the rare disease known as ROHHAD – inspired the Maltese public with his joyful spirit and outlook on life. Despite his condition which makes him gain weight despite dieting and exercise, Jake runs triathlons across Malta, is extremely active, loves cycling and even plays the drums.
In a interview earlier this month, Jake’s parents told us that his biggest dream would be to meet Alistair and Johnny Brownlee, the triathlon-running brothers from England. The pair shot to fame after one of them gave up the chance to win the race to help his injured brother cross the finish line.
Well, the dream has just come true. Virtually.
Jake’s story moved the entire nation, with thousands of people taking to social media to share his story, including his heroes.
