After months of a social media hiatus just over a year after his record-breaking non-stop swim from Linosa to Gozo, Malta’s very own superhuman Olympian Neil Agius has announced he’s making a swimming comeback.

In a new post sharing his inner thoughts, pressures and anxieties, Agius said that he’s decided: it’s time to swim again.

“I did this to fully understand if I want to take on another swim in 2023 and what impact this would have on my family, friends and of course Lara,” Agius said of his recent break from the limelight.

“I’m super excited for what’s to come,” the super swimmer said. “It’s time to start focusing and with my team do something special.”

His post garnered over 2,000 reactions, with people from all walks of life praising the humble Maltese hero for his insane dedication.
