Jake Vella Currently In ITU As Many Send Their Support
Jake Vella is currently in ITU at Mater Dei as Puttinu Cares have asked the public to spare a prayer for the young triathlete.
The news sparked a wave of encouragement and support from the Maltese public as many took to Jake’s Facebook page to send their well-wishes.
“Let’s all unite together and spare a small prayer for warrior Jake. Although he puts up a brave face he is suffering a lot. Jake we are all behind you,” Puttinu Cares wrote on its page.

Jake’s parents also thanked Prime Minister Robert Abela and his wife Lydia for sending flowers to their son while he is in the ITU.
The 15-year-old is battling a rare condition called ROHHAD; Rapid-onset Obesity with Hypothalamic dysfunction, Hypoventilation, and Autonomic Dysregulation which affects his hormones which leads to obesity and makes it extremely difficult to lose weight – no matter how hard he trains or the healthy lifestyle he leads.
