ONE chairman and Valletta Cultural Agency head Jason Micallef has called for the resignation of PBS’ CEO Charles Dalli after he stopped the broadcasting of Ħadd Għalik’s Christmas game show following a request from the Opposition.

“This unilateral decision by the PBS leadership, which is in breach of a directive by the Broadcasting Authority, calls for the immediate resignation of the person who took this decision so as to look good with the Opposition,” Micallef said. “The PN MPs participated in this programme voluntarily and therefore gave their full consent. It’s unacceptable that the people in charge of PBS take orders from the Opposition. This calls for a resignation, if not resignations.”

Ħadd Għalik’s Christmas programme would have seen PL MPs Rosianne Cutajar and Clifton Grima team up with PN deputy leader David Agius and MP Toni Bezzina and compete in some crazy and funny challenges against four panto dames.

It was filmed on 12th November, before Yorgen Fenech was arrested and charged with the assassination of Daphne Caruana Galizia, triggering a political crisis.

The PN filed a complaint with the Broadcasting Authority to cancel the show, but the BA told PBS that the show shouldn’t be cancelled. However, PBS CEO Charles Dalli today informed the producers of Ħadd Għalik that the show will not be broadcast.
