The well-known political commentator then met up with Abela to discuss the proposals in more detail.

“Some people told me that I only criticised the planning proposals because I wanted to harm the government or the Prime Minister, and some even claimed that I was working for Repubblika,” he said.

“So many theories are being thrown around by people who still haven’t grasped that I genuinely believe honest criticism strengthens proposals. However, anyone who truly knows me doesn’t buy into these theories; they know my criticism comes from love for my country.”

“People who never accept criticism are mistaken, but thankfully the Prime Minister doesn’t think like that and today we had an honest conversation about what bothers me in the proposals.”
