Jordan Azzopardi Granted Bail In Latest Drug Trafficking Case

Suspected drug kingpin Jordan Azzopardi has been granted bail over an incident which saw police discover around 130g of cocaine in his possession after he tried to evade capture.

Azzopardi, the suspected drug kingpin known as ‘El Chapo Ta’ Malta’, was found with a substantial amount of cocaine following a police operation on 22nd July. Police discovered around 130g of cocaine.

Azzopardi had tried to evade a police roadblock, causing damage along the way. Azzopardi claimed that he fled police because he feared that it was people who once threatened him.

He was already out on bail for his major drug trafficking case in 2019 when he committed his latest offence.

Magistrate Natasha Galea Sciberras granted bail against a deposit of €8,500 and a personal guarantee of €12,500. Azzopardi has to also sign at a police station and is under house arrest during the evening.
