Joseph Calleja Blasts Joseph Muscat: ‘Resign Now For The Good Of The Country’
Tenor Joseph Calleja has insisted that Joseph Muscat must resign now for Malta’s own sake.
“It is precisely because of Keith Schembri’s alleged involvement in this most heinous murder and his subsequent “’betrayal’ that Joseph Muscat must go now – for the good of the country.” Calleja tweeted.
This is Calleja’s second major intervention in Malta’s political crisis in recent days, having earlier derived the situation in Malta as “leaderless, rudderless and utterly untenable”.

He commented today after PN MEP Roberta Metsola said that Muscat had told a delegation of MEPs, which she forms part of, that his former chief of staff Keith Schembri had betrayed him. Schembri was arrested after being implicated by Yorgen Fenech in the assassination of Daphne Caruana Galizia but has since been released.
Nevertheless, the likes of Ministers Owen Bonnici and Chris Cardona are speaking publicly about how Schembri betrayed their trust.
