Joseph Muscat Must Be Investigated After ‘Unethical’ Girgenti Party, Authorities Told
Two Maltese authorities have officially been asked to investigate the conduct of Prime Minister Joseph Muscat after he was filmed partying wildly at the Girgenti Palace.
In a letter to the Electoral Commissioner and the Standards Commissioner, independent MEP candidate Arnold Cassola warned that the video constitutes unethical behaviour.
He added that the video indicates that a state property, the Prime Minister’s official residence, was used by a political party, in breach of the law regulating party financing.
In the leaked video, Muscat can be seen jumping up and down and chanting with the crowd to the Labour Party classic “Ma Tagħmlu Xejn…” while his wife Michelle dances in front of him and waves a bottle of champagne.
