Displays across Malta promoting the latest Jurassic World film cost the government €17,100.

The detail was revealed by Tourism Minister Clayton Bartolo following a parliamentary question by MP Julie Zahra.

However, Bartolo defended the outlay, insisting that it had promoted the country and images of the display had even reached America.

Three full-scale velociraptors were erected in Valletta, Birgu and Mellieħa to celebrate Malta featuring in the film.

Meanwhile, an official opening for the film cost a further €9,100.
