‘Just Trying To Survive’: Maltese Restaurateur Calls Out Social Distancing Double Standard
Emma Demarco, owner of San Ġwann Restaurant ‘Emma’s Kitchen’, took to Facebook this morning to call out Malta’s social distancing double standards.
“I am all for observing guidelines, but this seems a little badly thought out to me,” Demarco said.
She included a picture of her restaurant, wherein tables were placed in accordance with social distancing regulations, alongside a picture of a Maltese nightclub, where guidelines aren’t as strict.
Commenters were quick to rush to the comment section to express their disappointment at this double standard. One disgruntled commenter said “Welcome to Mickey Mouse land!” and another followed with “It’s extremely unfair! They need to re-evaluate asap.”
