Keith Schembri’s Confidante Neville Gafa Lashes Out At Evarist Bartolo For ‘Spewing Hatred’

An OPM official that worked closely with Keith Schembri and even worked as a “special envoy” to the Prime Minister abroad has attacked the Education Minister for one of his philosophical Facebook statuses.

Neville Gafa, who uploaded a photo taken by a person stalking Daphne Caruana Galizia the day before her assassination, said that Evarist Bartolo should stop “spewing hatred” and should have resigned three years ago if he was man enough.

“Do not think we’ve forgotten that time you attacked the Prime Minister. You even went so far as to do it when he was leading a delegation abroad!,” Gafa said in a public status on his Facebook feed.

Gafa’s status came after Bartolo’s said two of the last three Prime Minister’s Chief of Staffs had too much power over government, a reference to both Keith Schembri and Richard Cachia Caruana.

“The country should have but one Prime Minister and one cabinet: that which takes a pledge to serve the people and can be held to account through parliament, the media, and civil society. Any other power, hidden or secret, can only do a lot of harm,” Bartolo had said.

However, Gafa was not holding back from showing how irked he was by Bartolo’s status.

“And one other thing: before you continue to judge Mr Schembri, I advise you to compare his achievements for the good of the country to the works you’ve done yourself.”
