Labour And Nationalist MPs Get Into Physical Fight, Newsbook Journalist Assaulted During Siege Of Parliament
Labour MP Clifton Grima and Nationalist MP Karol Aquilina have been filmed by MaltaToday coming to blows during tonight’s dramatic siege of Parliament.
With tensions running high, Grima and Aquilina shoved each other and had to be pulled away from each other by their aides. They were seen shaking hands shortly afterwards.
Meanwhile, a Newsbook journalist was assaulted by a man who was walking next to parliamentary secretary Clint Camilleri as she filmed the siege.
This is compleltely and utterly unacceptable. A @Newsbook_com_mt journalist assaulted by Ministers’ staff – for doing her job. @Monique_Agius you have our FULL support. SHAMEFUL. pic.twitter.com/3xBeIEM45D

After police barricaded protestors to stop them approaching MPs, the protestors reacted by splitting up into four groups, effectively blocking all exits away from the House.
The protestors are demanding the instant resignation of outgoing Prime Minister Joseph Muscat and are crying out “traitors”, “mafia” and “assassins” as the siege goes on.
