Lapsi’s Iconic Ta’ Rita Restaurant Closed Ahead Of Demolition And Complete Transformation

Nearly 100 years after first opening its doors back in 1927, Għar Lapsi’s beloved Ta’ Rita restaurant is set to lose its iconic blue facade and retro look.
Now with barriers closing off the establishment after its final business day last week, the restaurant will soon embark on a process of demolition and redevelopment.
The redevelopment will see the site completely transformed, gaining an extra storey.
It will also include a three-floor guesthouse complex with an outdoor pool, underground parking, a scuba diving shop, a multipurpose hall and a play area.
