Vidal was found by police this morning in Marsamxett harbour laying next to a car that had caught on fire and he was rushed to the hospital by ambulance due to serious injuries.

Meanwhile, the police have confirmed with Lovin Malta that the vehicle from which the fire originated was of the victim.

“I witnessed the explosion and saw the man in flames walking out of the car,” a witness told Lovin Malta.

“Obviously I called 112 immediately for help and within minutes help arrived. Emergency responded promptly and was very professional.”

Following the incident, a host of people who knew Vidal took to Facebook reacting to the sad news and wishing him a speedy recovery.

“Get well soon dear friend, I wish you a speedy recovery. Come on friends lets say a prayer for our great friend Liam Vidal. Stay strong, may God continue to guide you during this difficult moment,” said one person.

“Get well soon Liam Vidal. Let’s see you strong and healthy again friend,” said another.

“Stay strong my friend. Don’t give up, you will be with us again as soon as possible,” a friend of Vidal fondly expressed.

“You have the strength of a lion brother, stay strong.”

Even a Facebook page dedicated to art and culture in Valletta has expressed its concern for Vidal.
