JeanPaul Sofia’s mother Isabelle Bonnici placed a portrait of her late son outside Castille last night in her latest attempt to convince Prime Minister Robert Abela to order a public inquiry into her son’s death.

Isabelle Bonnici, along with her family, wants justice to be served so that she knows what led to her son’s death,” a statement after the action read.

“But that’s not all. Through a public inquiry, recommendations will also be made to amend or introduce new laws so that no one suffers the same fate as Isabelle’s son.”

“Light conquers darkness.”

Bonnici invited the public to visit Castille and place similar photos of JeanPaul near her own.

“Isabelle will continue with her fight for what is right and urges the people to join her in this call for life and justice. For Jean Paul,” she concluded.

JeanPaul Sofia was killed at a Kordin construction site last December and it took 15 hours to retrieve his body from the debris. Police have launched an investigation but no one has been charged yet, prompting Prime Minister Robert Abela to publicly criticise the magisterial inquiry for taking its time.

However, Bonnici has been adamant in her calls for a public inquiry into the circumstances surrounding her son’s death, stating that this is necessary prerequisite for future reforms in the construction sector.
