Jeremie Camilleri is back in court today for the second sitting of the compilation of evidence against him for the murder of Pelin Kaya.

Kaya, a Turkish national, was run over by Camilleri in Gżira on 18th January as she was walking home from her 30th birthday party. Camilleri was high on cocaine at the time and police had to tase him to bring him into custody.

During the first sitting on 30th January, inspector Kurt Zahra laid out the police’s case against Camilleri, revealing that the murder suspect had told his ex-girlfriend that he is a “psychopath” and a “proud criminal” and that he “wants to be popular” an hour before running over Kaya in Gżira.

Camilleri is pleading not guilty.
