The court case against Jeremie Camilleri, who has been charged with murdering Pelin Kaya, is set to commence today.

Kaya, a Turkish national, was run over by Camilleri in Gżira on 18th January as she was walking home from her 30th birthday party. Camilleri was high on cocaine at the time and police had to tase him to bring him into custody.

He is pleading not guilty.
