Żejtun Father Injured At Delimara Plant On Boxing Day Passes Away

Chris Portelli was 45-years-old and leaves behind a wife and two children

Chris Portelli, the 45-year-old man who was left fighting for his life after falling and injuring his head at the Delimara Power Station last week, has died, police have confirmed this morning.

The father of two who lived in Żejtun had been carrying out repair works in the power plant on Boxing Day at about 3pm when he fell about one and a half metres off of a stepladder, seriously injuring his head.

The man had been rushed to hospital after members of the Civil Protection Department assisted him after his accident.

Chris Portelli was an active and beloved member of his community

He was known for his love of social activities and his work with the Għaqda Madonna tal-Grazzja San Mikiel. The organisation has released a message of condolence where they called him a friend and an important volunteer, and said their thoughts were now with his wife and two children.

TV presenter Quinton Scerri, who is the President of Chris Portelli's group, also posted an emotional message this morning saying Portelli's smile would be missed
