A 10-year-old girl has lost her life after being involved in a head-on car crash in Manikata, in a road near Popeye’s Village.

At around 5:35pm today, a car overturned following a collision with another vehicle. The car that overturned was reportedly being driven by the father of the girl who died.

Members of the Civil Protection Department attempted to remove the father and daughter, as well as the other passengers, from the wreckage to provide medical assistance. However, the girl was confirmed to be dead, and rescuers efforts were in vain.

A magisterial inquiry is currently underway. The reason for the collision is as yet unknown.
