1,200,000 Litres Of Water Used To Extinguish Ħal Għaxaq Industrial Fire

The industrial fire in Ħal Għaxaq has finally been brought under control, following a huge firefighting operation.

Here’s just a glimpse of what it took to tackle the blaze:

  • 1,200,000 litres of water 

  • 97 firefighters 

  • 16 hours of continuous firefighting 

  • 12 Senior Fire Officers

  • 24 fire appliances

The Civil Protection Department extended heartfelt thanks to the many agencies that helped coordinate the response, including:

  • The Malta Police Force

  • Mater Dei Maltal Emergency Department

  • Transportmalta

  • CPD Volunteers

  • Efru Malta

  • St John Ambulance & Rescue

  • Private water contractors

  • J. Micallef Service Station

Their combined efforts were crucial in ensuring a safe and effective emergency response.
