An Italian youth has been grievously injured after falling from a height of one storey in a block of apartments in San Gwann.

At around 5:45am this morning the 18-year-old male fell from wall of a height of about one storey, falling to a common area shared by the block.

His body landed near the pool after falling, shocking residents within the block and leading to the police being called onto the scene.

The incident happened in Triq Birkirkara, San Gwann. The youth was rushed to Mater Dei after being assisted by a medical team as well as members of the Civil Protection Department. He was confirmed to have injuries of a grievous nature.

An investigation is underway.
