A 25-year-old woman is currently fighting for her life after she was attacked by a man in St Julian’s earlier today.

At 10am, the police were informed there was an injured person on the rocks near Triq il-Wilġa.

Initial investigations revealed the Colombian woman who lives in Sliema was with another person when an unknown man approached her and a commotion ensued.

The man started waving a broken bottle which led to the woman getting several injuries.

A medical team was called to the scene and the woman was taken to Mater Dei by ambulance and was later certified with serious injuries.

Magistrate Philip Galea Farrugia is leading an inquiry while police investigations are ongoing to establish the dynamics of the case while a search is ongoing for the person involved.
