A 43-year-old man from Mqabba has been arrested for making fake bomb threats on ships travelling between Malta and Gozo, the Malta Police Force has just announced.

These past two days have been marked by temporary closures of the popular Gozo Channel service, with events on both islands suffering or even being cancelled due to the service. Meanwhile, long traffic jams were reported in Gozo, with cars already lining up Mġarr in the early hours of this morning ahead of next week.

The man is expected to be arraigned in Court in the coming days, the police finished.
