7-Year-Old Boy Left With Grievous Injuries After Car Crash During Roadblock In Paola

A 7-year-old boy has been left with grievous injuries after being involved in a car crash this morning that also left a police vehicle damaged.
Early this morning at about 12: 30am, the police were informed that their assistance was needed in Triq Kordin, Ra?al ?did.
District Police were sent immediately on site, where preliminary investigations indicated there had been an impact between a Volkswagen Passat driven by a 24-year-old man from Fgura and a Nissan March driven by a 35-year-old woman from Isla.
The 7-year-old boy was a passenger in the Nissan March.
During the car crash, the Nissan March also drove into a Ford Focus Police vehicle which was on site as officers were performing road checks in the area.
A medical team from Mater Dei Hospital and members from the Civil Protection Department went on site to assist the victims. Both drivers and the 7-year-old boy were taken to hospital for any medical treatment needed. Later, the boy was certified as suffering from grievous injuries, the woman was certified as suffering from slight injuries whilst the 24-year-old man suffered no injuries.
Police investigations are still underway.
