85 Migrants, Including One Baby And Six Women, Arrive In Malta After Being Found On A Wooden Boat

The Armed Forces of Malta have rescued 85 migrants who were found aboard a wooden boat after they were alerted to a vessel that was reported to be in distress. Among the 85 people on board were at least one baby and six women.
The group arrived at Haywharf at about 9:15am this morning, where an ambulance as well as three police buses were awaiting to assist them.
“Yesterday evening, the P51 Vessel was dispatched to the location where a wooden boat was reported to be in distress. 85 people have been rescued and transferred on board the AFM vessel. The saved migrants will be brought to Malta and are expected to arrive by this morning,” the AFM stated earlier this morning.

The rescue comes just hours after another vessel capsized off the coast of Tunis, with at least 50 people feared drowned after help was not able to assist them in time.
